Finally...a very belated update of things that I have redesigned and hand painted!

It has been quite some time since I have updated my blog!  I will be posting a lot of pics of all that I have designed and hand painted over the past year.  I had a bit of a time lapse with having some surgical stuff!  Some things I was hired to paint and some just for my self or family.  This past month we have been snowed in in our home in Sky Valley and I went on a bit of a painting frenzy...a neighbor moved and gave me her 'cast aways'...so of course...I paint ANYTHING that will stand still long enough!

Finally build me a studio---enclosed my down stairs porch--so I can paint whenever I desire!  No more painting on my kitchen island and having to clean up before every meal!!  I will post a few pics of my studio and some before and after pics of my latest work.  Don't forget...I can take your old throw aways and make them into some thing new and modern for todays decor.

My daughter 'Kimmy Schwimmy' bought this vintage 75 year old elephant cookie jar.  She sent 'Lucky' to me to whimsy up...fun!!

THE APPLES WERE JUST PLAIN GLASS.  BOUGHT THE SPICE RACK AT 'HABITAT'--WAS JUST PLAIN WOOD.  ABOUT TO TACKLE MY FIRST  CHANDELIER!

Still having fun painting old 'castaways' from my friends--the pots are mine and were just sitting in the garage empty and begging to be painted.  I guess the red/black one is for the 'DAWGS'!!!

The compote was a really old green frosted glass color with antique brass base.  I designed and painted it to fill with glass balls at Christmas time.

More 'castaways'...

More 'castaways' from a friend who bought a furnished house and I have greatly benefited from their 'cast aways'.  I love taking these old home decor items and giving them the 'A KAYREN SPAIN Design' touch.  First I prepare the old surfaces to accept the new paint.  Then I paint the item a solid color--either black or white--then out comes my sketch pad and I begin to create the design and colors that I will use.  The 'blank slate' is when I can begin to see a new design.  The object then has to be measured and gridded.  Then the real fun begins...the painting...this is the part I love the most.  I have discovered that there is NOTHING I can't paint...the latest is old oil lamps...who would have thought!!
